Cassington Bike Night 2019 was another huge success with thousands of bikers gathering for this great annual event. The threat of a thunderstorm didn’t seem to deter, as this fantastic video from the Motoring Nomad and a great drone shot of the Big Bike Park shows.
If you came along last night, thank you for being brilliant, and we look forward to seeing you next year – provisional date for the diary is Monday 29th June 2020.
If you lost a front door key on a little amethyst style keyring, drop us a line on here or Facebook and we’ll reunite you.
Thank you to our local businesses like the Red Lion, The Chequers and the Hatwell Family, plus our commercial sponsors like Premier Bikes and Photographer Ahead – your contributions help fund the road closure, insurance, bins and generally help us make the event as safe as possible when mixing thousands of bikes and pedestrians in quite a small village.
Thanks also to the teams of volunteers who marshal, cook, serve, shake buckets and clean up after the bikes ride off into the sunset – we couldn’t do it without you all.
From all the village charities, thank you to everyone who put their hand in their pocket for parking, burgers, bacon, cakes – you are what the event is all about and we love you all.
See you again in 2020!
So, Cassington Bike Night 2019 is just one day way, on Monday 24th June, and the village is getting ready for the annual influx of motorbikes, riders and guests.
If you are arriving by bike, follow the Marshalls directions to the most suitable parking areas, don’t forget if you have a vintage or classic you can park on the village green, you will need to arrive fairly early and do make the Marshalls aware. The majority of bikes will be directed to the big bike park at the sports fields, almost an event in itself and only a couple of minute walk to the village centre. The big bike park will have food vendors and a bar, plus of course thousands of bikes to take a look at!
If you are arriving by car (we know!) there are car parks situated at both entrances to the village, just follow the signs and the directions from the Marshalls.
We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for what looks like a warm, sunny and possibly stormy Cassington Bike Night 2019.
Cassington Bike Night 2019 is confirmed for Monday 24th June, we look forward to seeing you here…..
The format is the same as previous years. We will close the road through Cassington at 13:00 to everything other than event traffic and bike parking will be available from 16:00.
There will be lots of food options and we have a beer tent on the green as normal.
Bike parking is almost entirely on well draining grass however, if it’s been a bit wet, the ground may be soft. We do have plenty of blocks but you wish to bring something to put under your side stand.
See you there??
This is a pretty cool drone shot of the Big Bike Park at Cassington Bike Night 2018, courtesy of Tim Firth. About 30 minutes later the rest of the field was full, then we started filling in the gaps!
And another nice shot of the centre of the village, again courtesy of Tim Firth and his drone, rather than one of the six chinook helicopters that treated us to a fly past!
Today is Cassington Bike Night 2018 and it’s going to be hot and sunny. There are helmet and leather stores at the school and pavilion if you want to cool down your evening. Lots of options for cold drinks and food. Look forward to seeing you in Cassington later today!
Great article in this weeks MCN about Great Routes to Great Events – the great event being Cassington Bike Night of course! Hope to see you in Cassington on Monday 25th June from 4pm, the sun is shining, it looks like a great day for a ride.
Cassington Bike Night Article in MCN June 2018
Many thanks to photographer Anthony Morris of Farmoor for supplying the pictures, apologies that MCN forgot to credit you!
The weather for Monday looks sunny and warm. The action kicks off from 4pm, remember you can leave your helmets and leathers safely at the school or sports pavilion for a small donation – no need to lug them around all night.
The ground is pretty firm but most parking is on grass so bring a block if you have one, if not then we have lots.
It’s likely we’ll have 5,000+ bikes in Cassington which takes some coordinating, please follow the guidance from the marshals, ride suitably and we’ll all have an enjoyable and safe day.
Look forward to seeing you all on Monday…
