The village of Cassington will organise the event again this year as a fund raiser.
The organising committee is made up from volunteers associated to:
- Cassington St Peter’s primary school PTA
- Sports and Social Club
- St Peter’s Church Bell Ringers
- Woman’s Institute
- Cassington Village Hall
The village has hosted the event for almost 30 years. The event was run for many years by The British Motorcycle Riders Club Oxford (BMRCO) who used it as their annual club membership renewal meeting.
In 2012 the BMRCO handed organisation to the village. The 2012 year’s event was a great success with almost 7,000 bike and 10,000 bikers making it on the night.
In 2013 the village opened up further parking and topped all previous years’ attendances with almost 10,000 bikes.
2014 was our best year so far. We counted in just over 10,000 bikes and we even had some sunshine.
Another bumper year touching 10,000 bikes again – and the glorious weather continued – a great night had by all!
Despite being blessed by the weather again, we were down on numbers due to an England Football World Cup game – you can’t plan the knock out stages! Anyhow, those who attended had a good time.
Well, we were blessed with the weather, no World Cup clash and an absolutely monster turnout – a great time seems to have been had by all. Check out the assume pictures in our gallery…
